William Chesshire Obituary

William Jerry Chesshire, age 77, of Blossom, Texas, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Brentwood Terrace Nursing Home.

Jerry was born on July 20, 1947, in Annona, Texas, to Edd and Agnes Mae (Mitchell) Chesshire.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 44 years, Myrtle Mae (Fultz) Chesshire; his children Jerry Daniel Chesshire and Thomas Rickman (Paul Wayne and Margaret); his siblings Elizabeth York, Lorene Sosa, Agniss May “CheChe” Satterfield, Daniel Larry, Edgar, and Thomas Chesshire; and his nephew Eddie Chesshire.

He is survived by his children Elizabeth Ellen and Susan Renee Chesshire (Tommy Lewis), Stephanie Robin Terese (James), Douglas Ray, and David Alan Fultz (Mona).

Jerry leaves behind a large and loving legacy of grandchildren: Annie Juliet Stutz, Yuna Mae and Octavia Cerena Terese, Ashley Elizabeth Renfroe, Daylan Lewis, Thomas Dewayne, Bradley Lane, Joshua Lynn Chesshire, David Allen Chesshire, Jerry Daniel Chesshire Jr., Michael David, Daniel Nathan (Mackenzie), and Andrew Wyatt Fultz; as well as Ethan Rickman and Austen Palmer.

His great-grandchildren include Bentley Ray Mitchell, Kylie Grace, Rylie McCoy Renfroe, Cynliee Barnes, Josephine Lynn Fultz, Klowe Elizabeth, Korbyn Daniel Fultz, Rynlee Dawn, and Brayden Lane Chesshire — along with countless nieces, nephews, and cousins from near and far.

Jerry was a retired truck driver and electrician, but he was best known and most loved as a lifelong, gifted musician and singer — a man who never left home without his guitar. In his later years, he cherished time spent with his grandbabies, gardening, ranching, reading westerns, studying history, and, with humor and heartbreak, faithfully rooting for the Dallas Cowboys.

He lived a life full of music, movement, and meaning — from coast-to-coast trucking to heartfelt melodies played under the Texas sky. Jerry once said, “Hold on to your music, because that is your memories — and one day, that is all you will have.” If you take anything from the story of this stellar old cowboy, let it be that.
