Willard Carroll Leverett, age 90, of Clarksville, passed away, Saturday, August 8, 2020, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Leverett was born September 25, 1929, in Clarksville to John and Rena Bell Holleman Leverett. Willard enjoyed music and playing instruments. Some of his favorite to play were the fiddle, guitar, bass, and the mandilion. One of his bands favorite places to play was at the Clarksville Courthouse. Willard served his country in the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He also proudly served in the Masons for over 50 years, Member Friendship Lodge #16 AF&AM.
Willard married his loving wife, Edna Earl Gallender on July 26, 1954. He enjoyed telling stories to his friends and family, He was a good man and will be missed. Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife; his son, Tommy Leverett; 3 brothers, Ben, Woodrow and Joe Leverett and 7 sisters, Beaulah Deason, Edna Philley, Margaret Crank, Docia Upton, Julia Aline Griggs, Willie Belle McElroy and LaVera Loyd.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 13, 2020, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home with Masonic Rites.
Graveside services are set for 2:30 p.m. at Fairview cemetery with Dr. Tim Reger officiating. Burial is under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Survivors include his son, Willard Dwayne Leverett and wife, Diane of Hooks; his daughter, Carol Gardner and husband, Larry of DeKalb; 5 grandchildren, Nathan Leverett and wife, Jennifer of Reno, Lauren Norris and husband, Jeff of Texarkana, Dana Townsend and husband, Dalewayne of Texarkana, Arkansas, Kristen Pyrc and husband Bryan of Mansfield and Steven Leverett and wife, Kate of Beaumont; 9 great grandchildren, Jordan, Jarrett, Rebekah, Landon, Jake, Linden, Clara, Evelyn and Emilia and numerous nieces and nephews.
