Obituary

Webster McEvoy III (Webb) was born on February 3, 1949, in Pasadena, Texas, and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. He was the son of Webster and Franke McEvoy of Pasadena, Texas. Webb graduated from Pasadena High School in 1967. He received a BA Degree with a double major in Psychology and English from the University of Houston in 1972 and he received a master’s degree in theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas in 1978. He was ordained as a deacon in Memorial Baptist Church, Pasadena, Texas in 1973. He was licensed a gospel preacher in 1975 and ordained as a pastor in 1978 at First Baptist Church of Pasadena, Texas. Webb pastored three churches: Valley View Baptist Church in Valley View, Texas; Bosqueville Baptist Church in Waco, Texas; and Broadway Baptist Temple in Houston, Texas.

Webb worked as a janitor for three years while in high school, for 7-11 for one year, for the U.S. Postal Service for seven years, he pastored for ten years, and he was a Language Arts and Bible teacher for 28 years in the Pasadena Independent School District, Pasadena, Texas, and the First Baptist Christian Academy of Pasadena, Texas.

Webb was preceded in death by his parents, Webster McEvoy Jr. and Franke Cocke McEvoy. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Patricia Casey McEvoy; a daughter, Joanna Kate Hendrix and husband, Tommy; a son, Jonathan Webster McEvoy; two stepsons, John Michael Busby and wife Cindy, and James Howard Busby and wife, Debi; one stepdaughter, Pamela Gay Sullins and husband, Ed; fourteen grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the Clarksville Funeral Home, Clarksville, Texas.  Graveside services are set for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston with Rev. Jon Redmond officiating.  Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. 

Honorary Pall Bearers will be Jonathan Webster McEvoy Jr., Gavin McEvoy, Seth Price, Ethan Hendrix, Josh Busby, Sean Busby.
