Wanda Dean Dudley Cheyne, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Focused Care Nursing Home in Clarksville. Wanda was born January 16, 1933, in Cisco, to Albert and Beulah Mae Posey Dudley.
Wanda was an excellent seamstress and loved to quilt. She made many beautiful quilts for her family and loved to quilt each week with the ladies at Garland Chapel. She was an avid reader and volunteered many hours at the Red River County Library before working part time at the Library for over 20 years. She was a life-long Baptist and a member of the Annona First Baptist Church where she taught the Women’s Sunday School Class for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Ray Cheyne; son Terris (Terry) Glen Cheyne; sisters, Betty Widousky and Belle Presley, brothers, Alwin Dudley and John Dudley; and son in law, Richard Stauter. She is survived by daughters, Connie Stauter of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Brenda Hendrix and husband, Jim of Annona; and son, Jimmy Cheyne and wife, Kathy of Clarksville; daughter in law, Sharron Cheyne of Longview; sister, Jerri Palmer of Orange; and brothers, Leslie Dudley of Carlsbad, New Mexico and Bill Dudley of Pasadena; grandchildren, Amy Phillips, Jamie Washington, Zachary Smith, Charla Balfanz, Clayton Stauter, Krisan Cortez, Tiffany Simington, David Cheyne, Theresa Cheyne, Patrick Cheyne, Chris Willadson, Wesley Grant; great grandchildren, Meridian Gladden, Beckett Gladden, Steven, Cheyne, Ebonie Washington, Kennedy Smith, Olivia Smith, Hayden Balfanz, Colt Balfanz, Brooks Stauter, Nolan Stauter, Brennan Cortez, Kylee Apperson, Karis Cortez, Ashten Simington, Cayden Simington, Sierra Ozuna, Jonathan Ozuna, Travis Willadson, Brandon Willadson, Bryce Willadson and Emily Willadson; and great great grandchildren, June Apperson, Stella Apperson, Amyrica Washington, Jacieon Washington.
A Celebration for the life of Wanda Cheyne will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Annona with Rev. Deannie Lambert officiating.
Clarksville Funeral Home was in charge of cremation.
