On January 9, 2021, Virginia L. Robertson passed away in Denison, Texas at the age of 88. She was a resident of Bonham, Texas.
Virginia was born May 21, 1932, in Antlers, Oklahoma to Addley and Faye (Everrett) Wilhite. She graduated from Antlers High School in 1950. On March 5, 1955 she married James Robertson in Hugo, Oklahoma. They had three sons, Jimmy, Mark, and Jeff Robertson. Virginia worked as an administrative assistant until retirement. At that time, she became a companion caretaker until 2010. Upon her final retirement, she found her own companion and best friend, her dog, Toby, who she adored. Virginia valued being social and made friends everywhere she went. She was affectionately known as Meme to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as to a number of special friends. She had a green thumb and was an exceptional cook. It is believed she kept every recipe she ever found. She enjoyed reading and completing the crossword puzzle in the newspaper. She is remembered by her great-grandchildren for having a special cookie jar for them to enjoy their favorite cookies when they came to visit. Virginia leaves a legacy of being strong and independent.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband James; son, Jimmy; grandson Jimmy; sisters, Opal and Jewel; and brother, Morris, “Moose”.
She is survived by her son, Mark and wife, Christy; son Jeff; granddaughter Mandy and significant other, Aaron; grandson, Josh and wife, Ericka; and grandson, Jacob; great-grandchildren, Haygen, Adley, and Washington; and her beloved Toby.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 15, 2021, at Clarksville Funeral Home from 1:00 to 1:45p.m.
Graveside services will be Friday, January 15, 2021, at Fairview Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Robert Milton officiating. Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Flowers can be sent to Clarksville Funeral Home or she would be honored to have donations made in her name to Meals on Wheels (Fannin County) or Oak Ridge Church of Christ.
