Timothy Loftin Obituary

Ben Loftin, 23, of Bogata, Texas, passed away on June 1, 2025, in Plano, Texas.

Ben was born on August 8, 2001, in Cleveland, Tennessee, to Cecil “Tex” and Carrie Loftin. He grew up with a servant’s heart and a joyful spirit that touched everyone who knew him. Ben was a 2021 graduate of Rivercrest High School. He was an active and dedicated member of the Bogata Volunteer Fire Department, where he proudly served as secretary. Ben also worked at Walmart in Paris, Texas and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Bogata.

Ben will be remembered for his contagious smile, his big bear hugs, his positive attitude, his deep faith, and the genuine love he had for his family, friends, and community.

He is survived by his father, Cecil “Tex” Loftin, and stepmother, Betty Loftin; his brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Whitney Loftin; his stepsister, Jamye McCarter; and stepbrothers, Sammy McCarter and Bryson McCarter. He also leaves behind his beloved niece, Payton Loftin, and nephew, James “Levi” Wittebort.

Ben is also survived by his paternal grandmothers, Effie Stricklin of Cleveland, TN, and Laurie Loftin of Athens, TX; his maternal grandfather, James Duggan of Charleston, TN; and his aunts and uncles: Robin and Eric Landress of Dawsonville, GA, Scott Duggan of Charleston, TN, Jaime Duggan of Cleveland, TN, Jody and Mitzi Duggan of Charleston, TN, Josh and Regina Stephens of Alto, GA, and Daniel Loftin of Cleveland, TN; along with many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carrie Loftin; his older brother, Mikel Loftin; his maternal grandmother, Martha Duggan; his paternal grandfathers, Cecil Ross Loftin and Tim Stricklin.

Ben’s legacy of kindness, service, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services are 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Bogata with Rev. Jeff Duvall officiating.  Burial will follow in Bogata Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Visitation will be an hour before at the church.  

Pallbearers are Wade Allen, Caleb Sleeper, Brett Jones, Tim Mills, Ashley Johnson and Zach Ward.

 The members of the Bogata Fire and Rescue will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
