Ted Joe Griffis

Ted Joe Griffis, age 71, of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at his residence.

Ted was born February 19, 1954, in Mangum, Oklahoma, to Hubert and Emma Jean Harris Griffis. On August 19, 1977, he married the love of his life, Nancy Carnahan. Together they shared 47 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love and devotion.

In 2000, Ted and Nancy made Clarksville their home, where Ted dedicated himself to teaching at Clarksville High School, Middle School, and in the Woodshop program. He was respected as both an educator and mentor, shaping the lives of many students throughout his career.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sharon Dean.

Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy Carnahan Griffis of Clarksville; two daughters, Sara Russell of Nacogdoches and Katherine Griffis and husband, Justin Pitts of Denison; one grandchild, Tayler Russell of Nacogdoches; his sister, Shirley Norman and husband, John of Lawton, Oklahoma; and his brother, Warren Griffis of Willow, Oklahoma.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
