Sue Grant Jones, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the age of 88, while surrounded by loved ones at Focus Care of Clarksville, where she spent her remaining years. As the matriarch of a large family, she is survived by her three daughters, Debbie and David Barnett of Clarksville, Sharon Meredith and Annette Lukenbill of Beaumont, and Tedra Jackson of Plano. As a life-long resident of Red River County, Sue Jones attained her education locally while moving on to co-own Ted’s BBQ and Butcher Shop in Clarksville, with Ted Grant during the 1970’s. After raising her three children, she married her high school sweet- heart, Charlie Joe Jones in 1999, spending precious time traveling, and enjoying her family's company at their cozy cabin at Crystal Lake. In her later years she was often known to have championed her fellow friends at a game of Rumikub, while simultaneously setting milestones on her walking team to which she remained in pristine health. If you were to ask Sue however, the moments spent with her family on various trips and intimate celebratory gatherings is what she held most dear. As a member of the Double R Cowboy Church, she was known and loved by all as “Mama Poo.” She will be deeply missed.
