Sammy Justin Stringer, Jr.

Sammy Justin Stringer, Jr., age 17, of Clarksville, passed away, Saturday, September 17, 2022. Sammy was born, December 6, 2004, in Texarkana to Sammy Justin and Tanya Stringer. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas Ray Stringer, his great grandparents; and an uncle, K.C. “Boo” McElyea. Sammy was a Senior at Avery High School. He loved hunting, fishing and playing pool. He never met a stranger and was a social butterfly. Sammy was a friend to all. Sammy especially enjoyed being in the “big rig” hauling cattle with John Wayne. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Survivors include his parents, Justin and Tanya Stringer of Clarksville; grandparents, Brenda and Freddy Rodriguez of Clarksville and Willie and Denise of Avery; great grandmother, Glenis Lewis of Clarksville; brother, Lane Stringer of Clarksville; sister, Kourtnie Stringer of Clarksville; uncles and aunts, Steven and Kellie Stringer and Gary and Shawna Nolen of Clarksville; and cousins, Macie Stringer, Dylan Stringer and wife, Katie, Kenidee Nolan and Holden Stringer.

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Avery High School’s, Gene Weaver Gymnasium with Kenny Webb officiating. Burial will follow in New Haven Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Lane Stringer, Eli Bivins, Hunter Martin, Vince Ussery, Kyle Baird, Jager Ingram, Ethan Eady, Hector Mancilla, Aaron Raulston and Cruz Martinez.

Honorary Pallbearers are Steven Stringer, Dylan Stringer, The Late John Wayne King, The Late, K.C. "Boo" McElya and the Avery High School teachers and class of 2023.
