Russell Blaine Jones

Russell Blaine Jones, 87, of Annona, Texas passed away on March 28,2025.

Born on May 24, 1937, in Annona Texas, Russell was the son of Stiles Jones and Janet Peek Jones. He graduated from Annona High School and earned his Master's in Education from Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches. He dedicated 30 years to teaching and coaching. His favorite years were spent raising watermelons where he employed so many students, including his grandsons, to help him load trucks. His watermelons were distributed all over the United States. 

He is survived by his daughter, Dharla Spies and son-in law Donald Spies, son, Blaine Jones and daughter-in law Shelly Jones, grandsons Dustin Williams and wife Courtney, Aaron Williams, Sean Spies and wife Taylor, and Rusty Jones. He had one granddaughter Megan Jones Bryant and her husband Kyle Bryant. Surviving greatgrandchildren, Slayton Duncan, Asher Williams, Harbor Williams, Emerick Williams Lilly Spies, Rori Williams, Hazel Bryant and Nora Bryant. He also had two great - great granddaughters, Emory and Eleanor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dharlene Jones, parents, and brother Lonnie Jones.

The family will plan a memorial at a later date for family and friends. Arrangements are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
