Roy Lee Ervin, 83, of Clarksville, passed away Friday morning May 29, 2026, at Clarksville Nursing Center. Roy was born, May 27, 1943, in Red River County to Hurshel and Minnie Faulkner Ervin. He married Frankie Fox on July 3, 1964. Roy was a lifelong resident of Red River County. Being an entrepreneur was an understatement. He was in the land, cattle and timber business for many years. He even had his own sawmill for 25 years and was the owner of Roy's Produce north of Clarksville. Roy was a great storyteller, loved gardening, especially raising tomatoes. He and his wife, Frankie were avid square dancers.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Craig Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in Tuggle Springs Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Visitation will be an hour before service time.
Pallbearers are Dale Hines, Raymond Long, Doug Whitten, Jr., Miguel Perez, Brandon Raulston and Glen Raulston.
Honorary Pallbearers are Forrest Roraback, Bill Robinett, Tony Potts, Mike Harville, John Mitchell, Harlan Brown, Clint Whittle, Jerald Jackson and Dennis Woods.
Survivors include his wife, Frankie Ervin, sons, Jimmy Ervin and wife, Rose of Seguin, Tim Ervin of Clarksville and Roy "Bubba" Ervin and wife, Denim of Clarksville, sister, Joyce Davis of Norman, Oklahoma, brothers, Larry Don Ervin and wife, Glenda of Bagwell and Hurshel Ervin, Jr. of Houston, sister-in-law, Betty Ervin of Clarksville, three grandchildren, Laremie, Connor and Savannah, six step grandchildren and fifteen step great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to the Tuggle Springs Cemetery Association, C/O Mattie Griggs, 8106 FM 2120, Bagwell, Texas 75412, or the Red River County Fair Association, P.O. Box 18 Clarksville, Texas 75426.
