Roger was born on July 28, 1961, in Clarksville, Texas, to Rheudy Rushing and Dorothy Brown Rushing.

He graduated from Clarksville High School in 1979. In 1982, Roger enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served for six years. During his military career, he completed boot camp in San Diego, California, followed by Basic Enlisted Engineering (BEE) School and Electrician's Mate "A" School in Great Lakes, Illinois. He also completed temporary duty in New London, Connecticut, Nuclear Power School in Orlando, Florida, Nuclear Prototype School in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and later served in Charleston, South Carolina.

Following his honorable service, Roger made his home in Tampa, Florida, where he spent the remainder of his life. He built a distinguished career with PdMA Corporation, where he served as Vice President of Quality Assurance, Manufacturing. He was respected by his colleagues for his expertise, leadership, integrity, and dedication to excellence.

Roger never met a stranger. He always had a story to tell, a joke to share, or a conversation waiting to begin. His warm personality, quick wit, and genuine interest in others made him a friend to many.

Roger had a lifelong love of reading and was an avid moviegoer. Whether he was immersed in a good book or enjoying the latest film, he appreciated a great story and loved sharing his recommendations with family and friends.
Above all, Roger loved his family. He treasured family gatherings filled with cooking, laughter, shared meals around the table, and spirited board games. He greeted everyone with a smile and a hug, making each person feel welcome and loved. His kindness, generosity, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Susan Lynn Rushing.

He is survived by his sister, Jo Alice Davis and her husband, Wendell; his brother, Charles Rushing and his wife, Kellie; and his sister, Linda Rushing. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
