Rachel Mae Burns Mankins, age 81, of the Lone Star Community, passed away, Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Titus Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Mankins was born, April 7, 1940, in the Glendale Community of Red River County to Edgar Henry and Kathleen Abernathy Burns. She was a 1958 graduate of Clarksville High School and was employed with Duke & Ayers and also the Hub clothing store in Clarksville. Mrs. Mankins was a member of the Lone Star United Methodist Church. In 1960 she married Dolan Mankins in Talco. Her parents; her husband; a brother, Donald Burns; 2 brothers-in-law, Bobby Childres and Donald Ray Warren; and a nephew, Douglas Childres preceded her in death. Rachel enjoyed sewing, solving puzzles and following her grandchildren' s sporting events.
Survivors include 2 sons, Nathan Mankins of Bogata and Neil Mankins and wife, Lessa of Detroit; 1 daughter, Debbie King and Mike Rust of Avery; 3 sisters, Dura Childres, Mary Ann Warren and Jo Hinsley and husband, Larry all of Bogata; grandchildren, Tye Mankins, Camelia Jenkins and husband, Bryce, Katie Nichols and husband, E.C., Jeremy Mankins and wife, Crystal and Ethan King; great grandchildren, Korie, Lakin, Kentley, Bonner, Ella, Kade and Wesley and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 PM, Friday, February 11, 2022, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Don Shovan and Rev. Dink Benton officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Thurman Russell, Buddy Abernathy, Randy Christopher, Ron Tippit, Johnny Hudson and Jeff Marris.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6: 00 PM until 8:00 PM at Clarksville Funeral Home.
