Morris Raulston Obituary

Morris Alan Raulston, age 71, of Hooks, TX, passed away on August 13, 2025, at Hospice of Texarkana, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on April 30, 1954, to Morris and Barbara Hutchens Raulston.

Morris proudly served his country, beginning his military career at the age of 19 in the United States Army. He rose to the rank of CW2 Warrant Officer and served in Vietnam, Desert Storm, and the Iraqi Freedom War. He also dedicated several years to the National Guard. Following his military service, Morris worked at Red River Army Depot as the Deputy Director of Maintenance, where he was respected for his leadership and dedication.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and cheering on high school football teams, especially when his grandchildren were on the field. Known as the rock of his family, Morris was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend whose quiet strength and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew him.

Morris was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Marlene Jones; and his brother-in-law, Dan Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jones Raulston, of Hooks, TX; his sons, Jason Kennedy and wife Susan of Fouke, AR, and Jake Ashmore and wife Ri of Texarkana, TX; daughters, Christy Thomas and husband Mike of Simms, TX, Misty Ried and husband Jason of New Boston, TX, and Brandy Slifer and husband Loren of Hooks, TX; brothers, Steve Raulston and wife Monica of Dimple, TX, Glen Raulston and wife Terry of Dimple, TX, and Keith Raulston and wife Thelma of Dimple, TX; grandchildren, Kaliegh, Kara, Tyler, Rhett, Jazz, Jaycee, Kylie, Gage, Addi, Trisha, Aiden, Levi, Gavin, Lain, and Hunter; three great-grandchildren, Nora Kate, Jace, and Trip; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Graveside service will be Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at New Haven Cemetery, 1390 Farm Road 2120, Clarksville, TX, with Bro. Matthew Butler officiating.
