Mittie Jean Barton

On June 11, 1942, Mittie Jean Barton graced this world with her wild spirit. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on October 27, 2022. Mittie was born, June 11, 1942, in Antlers, Oklahoma to Henry and Dora Harris Holder. She was a member of the Bogata Church of God. Mittie was a familiar face for many years at Piggly Wiggly in Clarksville and later Rehkopfs. She was highly thought of by her coworkers and customers. She will be deeply missed by all.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanie Gonzalez, of Clarksville, her daughter, Ginger & husband Daniel Broomfield of Blossom, and her son Darrell Sillivan of Annona, as well as her loving grandchildren, Alex & Jessica Broomfield, Jaxon Broomfield, Michelle Dutton and John Brown, Erica Bennet, Johnny & Jessica Crutchfield, Sophia & Bernabe Perez, and Christiana .  Numerous great and great-great grandchildren . Her sisters Maxine Peek and Francine Putteet. Her ever faithful friend and family member, Joe Helen Barton.

Mittie was welcomed into Heaven by the love of her life, husband Tommy “Red” Barton, and her grandson Rufugio Gonzalez, as well as her daughter, Doris Jean Sillivan.  No doubt there was a joyous reunion! Mittie was preceded in death by her parents, Dora & Henry Holder, and numerous other family members.

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2022, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with W. H. Elrod officiating. Burial will follow in English Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends and hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Jorge Cortez, Loran Duckett, James Barton, Wendall Jones, Bill Jones and Greg Stogsdill.

Honorary Pallbearer is Bobby Peek.
