Michelle Smith

Paula Michelle Smith, age 58, of Bagwell, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026.

Michelle was born April 1, 1968, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, to Charles Michael and Paula Brumley Murphy. She was a loving mother and wife who cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. Michelle was a kind-hearted woman with a generous spirit, always willing to help and care for anyone in need. She enjoyed antiquing and thrift shopping, and she had a special love for the water especially lake outings, and camping. Michelle will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mike Murphy; her husband, Ricky Lynn Smith; and her grandson, Brayden LaRue.

Michelle is survived by her life companion, Dave Hutson, Jr. of Bagwell; her mother, Paula Brumley Murphy of Bagwell; her son, Ricky Lynn Smith, Jr. of Bagwell; two daughters, Angela Smith Rhodes of Clarksville and Patricia Smith and husband, Stacy Basham; her sister, Janice Patterson and husband, Patrick of Blossom; three brothers, Charles Murphy and wife, Staci of Dimple, Michael Murphy and wife, Cami of Bagwell, and Monty Murphy and wife, Jamie of Deport; six grandchildren, Emily, Dyanna, Jaden, Kyra, Clayden, and Rayden; and her son-in-law, Jeremiah Rhodes of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in the Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Karl Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Blanton Creek Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers are: Doy Glass, Wayne Glass, Joseph Glass, Mark Miller, Paul Miller and Danny Miller. Honorary pallbearer, David Potter.
