Maxine Zula Helm

Maxine Zula Helm, age 95, of Garland, formally of Cuthand, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019.

Maxine was born August 12, 1924, in Slate, Texas to Daniel Edward and Autumn Elizabeth Tucker Bynum.  She was the last of the great generation of WWII.  She loved reading, being with her children and grandchildren.  Maxine married her the love of her life on August 16, 1940.  She and her husband enjoyed the 40’s music, she would listen to it every day to keep his memories they shared alive. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, James T. Helm; her son, Robert Allen Helm and 2 brothers, Arwin Bynum and Darrel Bynum.

Survivors include her son, James Glenn Helm, Sr. and wife, Brenda Ann of Richardson; her step daughter, Sharon Elizabeth Mays and husband, Jack of Marshal, Arkansas; her grandson, James “Jay” Glenn Helm, Jr. and  Debbie Schigut of Garland; 3 step grandchildren, Jack Mays, Jr., Timmothy Mays and Sherry Jo Mays; 9 great grandchildren, Jason Allen Winfield, Amber Nicole Mitchum and husband, Clayton, Gary Southern and wife, Summer, Michael Helm and wife, Jessica,  Dillon Beaubien and wife, Lexi, Michael Hurst and wife, Jenny, Brittany Lopez and husband, Daniel, Amber Bell, husband, Mike and Tawny Hurst and 10 great-great grandchildren, Alexa, Jadyn, Brycen, Trystan, Brock, Landyn, Civana, Dayna, Dane and Austin.
