Maxine Cooper Obituary

Mabel Maxine Cooper, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on March 24th, 2025, in Clarksville, Texas, at the age of 89.

Born on August 28th, 1935, in Many Louisiana, Maxine’s life was a testament to the power of unwavering love and dedication to family. Maxine’s journey through life was one marked by joyous celebrations and the cherished company of her beloved late husband Fred, and her family. Together, they built a life rich in love and laughter. She was a devoted mother to her children, Samuel, Sharon, Charlotte, and Clarene. Maxine’s role as Nanna was one she embraced with every fiber of her being, always ensuring she was present for when she was needed the most. She has left behind her daughters, Clarene, and a son Samuel. From Sharron is Maxine’s granddaughter, Jolene, who gave Maxine great-grandchildren, Breanna, Haliey and Matthew. Samuel's children are Kaitlyn, Laura, and Michelle. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret, her brother, Curtis and her sister-in-law, Pat whom she cherished, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that she loved dearly. All held a special place in her heart.

She loved her family and was very active in her churches. Maxine was a former member of the St. Joseph Hospital's Ladies Auxiliary in Paris. Her beloved husband, Fred Cooper, three brothers and three sisters, and two daughters preceded her in death.

Maxine’s life was characterized by her loving nature, her thoughtful gestures, and her selfless demeanor. She was the kind of person who would light up a room with her presence and fill it with warmth with her kindness. Her interests were simple yet profound, centered around the well-being and happiness of her family. She never missed an opportunity to be involved in her grandchildren's lives. Her support was unwavering, and her pride in their achievements knew no bounds. Dining out with family and praising the Lord were some of Maxine’s favorite pastimes. These moments were not just about the food or the drink but about the connections she cherished and the memories she created with those she loved. She was the kind of person who taught by example, showing what it meant to give without expecting anything in return. Her actions spoke volumes of her character, and her legacy is one of unconditional love and selfless service.

Maxine’s life will be honored and remembered. Her absence will be deeply felt, but the love she spread will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we bid farewell to Mabel Maxine Cooper, we celebrate a life beautifully lived, and a heart generously shared. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and her spirit will forever be a part of the lives she touched. Maxine’s family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with her parents, siblings, and all those who preceded her in death.
