Mary Ellen Turpin, age 80, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024, at her home in Clarksville, TX.
Mary Ellen was born January 16, 1944, in Bremond, TX to Alton Edwin Wynn and Annie Muriel McKinney. During her time in school she enjoyed cooking classes, playing the clarinet and was a majorette as part of the marching band. After she graduated school she moved to Austin, TX with friends where she met the love of her life, Allen Turpin. They later married on January 5, 1963, and remained married until Allen’s death in 2003. Allen and Mary Ellen moved to Redlands, CA in 1964 where they began a family together. They had two children, Scott Allen Turpin, and Jill Ellen Turpin. While her kids were growing up, she stayed home with them and was their biggest supporter in all the activities they were involved in. As time went on, Scott married Gina Miguelena and they gave her three grandkids: Amanda, Scott Jr., and Adam. Mary Ellen had a time in her life where she was able to baby-sit the grandkids and got to watch them grow and encourage them throughout life. After that, she began working in ad sales at The Green Sheet in Redlands, CA, where she continued until her retirement in 2008.
As Mary Ellen’s life continued, the grandkids were married- Amanda to Mark Williams, Scott Jr. to Tammy Oman, and Adam to Anagabriela Sweeney. Mary Ellen was then blessed with 10 great- grandkids; Allan Williams, Dalyn Williams, Trent Williams, Amethyst Williams, Liam Williams, Lia Williams, Landen Turpin, Maverick Turpin, Aria Turpin and Adam Turpin, Jr. Mary Ellen’s life revolved around her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Mary Ellen was a faithful church member and knew Christ as her Savior, she has an eternal home with Him in Heaven and we will see her again one day

A Family Conducted Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024,at New Haven Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Mark Williams officiating.
Mrs. Turpin's Ashes will be interred at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
