A Remembrance Gathering for Mark will be held July 27, 2024 ~ 1:00 pm at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home in Irving, Texas.  One of Mark’s best friends, Mr. Scott D. Nichols, will officiate the congregation.  Burial will be the following day with his family at the historic White Rock Cemetery in White Rock, Texas.  A graveyard which was gifted to the community by the Terry Family Ranch.  The ranch est. 1839, which he holds so dear to his heart, borders the cemetery so he may forever be home with loved ones that preceded and will proceed him.

Mark was a graduate of MacArthur High School in Irving, TX and accepted into Baylor University earning a Masters of Arts in geology.  At Baylor he was a member of the infamous Taurus Society.  He was always a hard worker from his first jobs of slinging hamburgers to Texas Instruments and then after graduation from Baylor, Texas Values and Fittings. After excelling in sales there he entered his future career path in a plethora of medical devices.  First was Alcon Laboratories, where he achieved top sales in the company.  At Pharmacia he introduced the Port-A-Cath, a totally implantable drug delivery system and pump, and again earning top sales.  Mark helped introduce and accompanied surgeons in the operating room to train and utilize the Intraoperative Neuromonitor to reduce morbidity as a result of nerve damage during head and neck surgery.  His advancements in sales moved him into territory and district management positions.  As Vice President of Sales in the US for Xomed Treace there was a temporary three-year change of residency to Jacksonville Beach, Florida.  Upon returning to Texas, he was selected by Heinz Kurz GmbH, a German medical device manufacturing company, to open their market in the United States and Canada.  As President of North America operations, he built a sales force for passive middle ear implants, specialized precision instruments, and products for rhinology and ophthalmology.  It was an opportunity where he utilized not only his polished sales acumen and respected contacts, but again to select, train and direct a very successful North American company.  His dedication to the field, patient outcome, and team building accomplishments facilitated industry improvements and saved many lives.

Mark, an only child like his father, was preceded in death by his loving parents, Bill J. and Bina Faye Terry, all of his in-laws and several lifelong friends.  He is survived by his devoted wife Susan Jarrett Terry, two of the best sons ever; Aaron Christopher Terry and Jarrett Denson Terry (wife Macye) and three precious grandchildren; Vivian Terry, Lily Jay Terry and Denson Terry.

Mark was given the gift of life and now has to give it back, his circle completed. But he was a fortunate man and was grateful for existence with a FULL and LARGE life.  Taking his mortal leave of this rollicking, revolving world of sunrises, sunsets, star fields, campfires, canoeing and kayaking, Big Bend and backpacking around the world, unforgettable GOOD TIMES with his family and many friends, Ranchin’, lots of laughter, a sip of scotch, hugs and kisses given and received, has us joyful to meet again on the other side.  Mark (My Presh) now pain free, will be greatly missed and fondly remembered and we’re pretty sure continuing to feel let down by the Dallas Cowboys excuse for gamesmanship.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the White Rock Cemetery Society, a private graveyard donated by Marks great, great, great grandfather that links to the Terry Ranch.
