Lu Anne Major, age 67, of Clarksville, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Born on December 5, 1957, in Clarksville to J.R. and Martha Lou Cagle Lewis, Lu Anne was a woman of deep faith whose presence could light up any room. She was a ray of sunshine, bringing joy and warmth to those around her.
Though she may not have been the most skilled musician, she loved playing instruments and singing—always embracing life with enthusiasm. She was dedicated to serving her community and took great pride in her role as president of Lanes Chapel Cemetery. Lu Anne married the love of her life, Mike, on September 10, 1977. They spent 47 years of marriage together. She was a devoted member of Aikin Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she actively participated in the choir, bell choir, ladies auxiliary, and sang specials for many years. In recent years, she developed a fondness for raising cows, each of which she lovingly named.
Above all, Lu Anne cherished her family. She adored her husband, daughters, and grandchildren, always filling their lives with love and laughter.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Mike Major of Clarksville; two daughters, Becky Major of Galveston and Lori Napier and husband, Brent, of Paris; her sister, Amy Lewis of Katy; three grandchildren, Tanner, Reese, and Mason Napier, all of Paris; her uncle John Finely of Clarksville and her beloved dog, Sue. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025, in the Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home, with Rev. Ryan Youngblood and Rev. Don Shovan officiating. Burial will follow in Lanes Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Lu Anne’s light and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
