Funeral services for Lois Erlene Bolton, age 101 of Sulphur Bluff, formerly of Clarksville, will be held
Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Youngblood
officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Clarksville, Texas, with Chad Bolton, Wayne
Bolton, Shane Bolton, Kevin McDonald, Cody Jennings, Daniel McDonald, and Colton McDonald, serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Bolton passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, after a brief illness. She was born on August 31, 1923, in Quitman, Arkansas, the daughter of Jesse Bethel Van- Buskirk and Ada Helen Evans Van Bus-kirk. She was married to Maxie Lyons Bolton April 26, 1941.
Mrs. Bolton resided in Hopkins and Red River Counties in Texas for most of her life, where she and her
husband worked on farms and ranches and raised their three sons to be honest, hardworking men. Mrs.
Bolton was a member of the Aikin Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Bolton was a wonderful homemaker, a
great cook, enjoyed gardening and fishing, she was a seamstress and could knit and crochet, she was a talented musician and singer and loved to read. She was a social person and loved spending time with her many friends and family.
Mrs. Bolton is survived by her son Michael and daughter in law Nancy Bolton of Sulphur Bluff, daughter
in law Linda Bolton of Cumby, grandchildren Chad Bolton (Nancy), Wayne Bolton (Michelle), Shane
Bolton, Sherry Sturgis (Todd), Stacey McDonald (Paul), Kristi Barnes, Stephanie Livingston (Wesley),
Johnathan Bolton, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Bolton was preceded in death by her husband of 61 yrs., her sons Gary and Mark Bolton, a great
granddaughter, Lindsey Bolton, and great grandsons, Aaron Eddington and Noah Fugate.
