Larry Vickers

Larry Michael Vickers, age 84, of Plano, formerly of the Lone Star Community in Red River County, passed away, Tuesday, March 7, 2023.  Mr. Vickers was born, September 14, 1938, in Clarksville to Carl “Dub” and Edith Pearl Miller Vickers.  He received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Criminal Law from the University of Houston. Mr. Vickers served in the U.S. Army and was a former Texas State Trooper.  He married Jean Baker on September 5, 1964, in Annona and was a member of the Lone Star Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Vickers of Plano; one son, Scott Vickers and wife, Cathleen of Gilmer; two granddaughters, Bella and Laina Vickers; and one brother, Jerry Vickers and wife, Barbara of Garland.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Shovan officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
