Larry Stephen Tackett

Larry Stephen Tackett, age 76, of Ore City, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, May 29, 2025.

Larry was born on September 29, 1948, in Clarksville, Texas, to J.D. and Dorothy Kelsoe Tackett. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Larry could often be found cheering on his favorite teams, playing billiards, or enjoying a game of dominoes. Though he loved trying all kinds of food, he wasn’t too fond of cooking it himself. His warm spirit, humor, and love for life made him a joy to be around.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thresa Tackett and his sister, Ginger Dell Tackett.

Larry is survived by his son, Chad Tackett and wife Emily of Burleson; his daughter, Whitney Rozell and husband Jason of Ore City; his sister, Rose Stringer of Clarksville; his brothers, Dennis Tackett and wife Cindy of Mt. Pleasant, and Michael Tackett of Clarksville; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Cole Farish, Case Farish, Carter Farish, and Alex Tackett. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in the Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Shovan officiating. Burial will follow at Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

The family will have refreshments and fellowship at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church immediately following graveside service.
