Joycelyn Bolton Skidmore, age 84, of Clarksville, gained her wings on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 in Denton. Joycelyn was born April 6, 1940, in Clarksville, to Ted Bolton and Dorothy Neighbors Bolton. She married Ronald Gene “Ronnie” Skidmore on August 16, 1959. They were married for 50 years before his death in 2009. Joycelyn worked for Clarksville Independent School District for 43 years before her retirement. Joycelyn was a very devoted and loving wife, mom and “Grandmomma”. Her grandkids were the light of her life and could really make her smile. Joycelyn was always watching for the most beautiful sunset wherever she might be. She will be sincerely missed by her loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful people that knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, his parents, a niece and nephew, a great niece, and her brother-in-law.
Survivors include her son Ronald Gene “Pete” Skidmore, Jr. and wife Kelly of Saint Jo, Texas. Three grandchildren, Kace, Kayden, and Kamron Skidmore. Her sisters Dottie Williams, Jeanette Wilson and husband, Charles, sister-in-law, Donna Sloan, and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2004, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Gossett officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Vic Bishop, Michael Humphrey, Mike Jarvis, Layne Lindeman, Rusty Lowe, and Kace Skidmore. Honorary Pallbearers are Ben Black, Steve Cecil, Bruce Emery, James Jones, Heath Harvey, Jack Herrington, Radar Johnson, Marion Lowe, Gene Townes, Dave Webster, and Gary Wilkins.
