Johnny Phillips, age 85, of Negley, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024, at his residence.
Johnny was born February 11, 1939, in Negley to Lanty Andrew and Claudia Elizabeth Freeman Phillips. Johnny married the love of his life Linda, August 2, 1958, they had an amazing life together of 65 years. In his younger years, Johnny enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the guitar and singing. He was a hardworking man and cared for others. Johnny had a good sense of humor and enjoyed life. He was a jack of all trades and a master southern engineer. Family was always first and he loved his children and grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents, his sister, Clara Sullivan and brother, Travis Andrew Phillips.
The family will receive friends one hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 PM, Friday July 5, 2024, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Kellam officiating. Burial will follow in Tuggle Springs Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers are: Bruce Ford, Richard Ford, Rondy Douthitt, Jeff Douthitt, Craig Fletcher and Michael Fletcher. Honorary pallbearers are Audie Hamm, Harlan Ford, Jeff Ford, Travis Phillips, Lesley Phillips.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Douthitt Phillips of Negley; 2 sons, Jimmy Allen Phillips of Negley and Danny Lynn Phillips and wife, Kristin of Negley; 2 daughters, Penny Leona Phillips and husband, Lloyd Banks of Negley and Rhonda Hanks and husband, Joel of Negley; 2 sisters, Mary Hamm and husband, Johnny of Canyon and Leatha Ford of Powderly; 11 grandchildren, Dianna Womack and husband Rocky, Lacey Wooten and husband, Johnny, Rachael Marlin and husband, Chris, Cassie White and husband Jimmy, Brian Phillips, Regina Phillips, Danielle Phillips and husband, Josh, Wyatt Phillips and wife, BreAnna, Holly Phillips and husband, George, Logan Phillips and Tyler Cunningham and husband, Chase; 17 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
