John Charlie Dotson

John Charlie Dotson, age, 88, of Bagwell, passed away, Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at his residence. John Charlie was born, April 1, 1937, in the Midway Community of Red River County to Charlie William and Donnie Mae Fisher Dotson.  His parents, a son, Johnny Lee Dotson, a brother, Granville Dotson and a grandson, Rickey Joe Dotson, Jr. preceded him in death. John Charlie was a longtime logger in Red River County.  He worked alongside with his father in their family business, Dotson Logging.  His son Steve is carrying on the business today. He enjoyed raising his cattle, the outdoors and baling hay with his wife, Donna.  

Funeral services are set for 11:30 A.M., Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Karl Bush officiating.  Burial will follow in New Haven Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. 

The family will receive friends an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home. 

Pallbearers are Coy McGregor, Herbert Stanphill, Lynn Golden, Forrest Roraback, Robert McGowen and Layne Book.

Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Dotson, Dudley Haynes, Tim Durham and his girls at Gooding Title Company, Cheryl Bills, Neil Sparkman and Chrissy Witmer. 

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Donna Raulston Dotson of Bagwell, 3 sons, Rickey Joe Dotson of Clarksville, Steve Dotson and Leslie of Boxelder and Jason Dotson and Lisa of Bagwell, sister, Eva Fitzhenry of DeKalb, brother, Herbert Stanphill, grandchildren, Shannon Evers, Heather Book and husband, Layne, Rickey Lee Dotson, Shyann Dotson and Laney Dotson, great grandchildren, Waylon Book, Virginia Book, Justin Dotson, Shad Hardeman and Shani Dotson.  Numerous nieces and nephews and his 4-legged pal, Tom Cat.
