James Hinkle Obituary

Bro. James Hinkle, age 84, of the Dimple Community, passed away, Sunday, January 18, 2026, at his residence.  Bro. Hinkle was born May 4, 1941, in Aubrey, Arkansas to Shelby Henry and Cyril Cullum Hinkle.  His previous wife, Dina Hinkle, daughter, Kelly Hinkle and two granddaughters, Samantha Lynn Hinkle and Kayla Leigh Hinkle preceded him in death.  Bro. Hinkle was a retired Missionary Baptist Minister and served several congregations for over 52 years in East Texas. He last ministered at New Haven Missionary Baptist Church in the Dimple Community of Red River County.   He loved to preach God's word.  Bro. Hinkle enjoyed gardening, being in the outdoors and loved his family and friends.  He especially enjoyed and was an avid turkey hunter!

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at New Haven Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Williams and Bro. Rob Blume officiating.  Burial will follow in New Haven Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. 

Visitation will be an hour before service time at the church. 

Survivors include his wife, Alice Hinkle, four sons, James Paul Hinkle and wife, Lori of Dimple, Keith Hinkle and wife, Anna of Clarksville, Scott Hinkle and wife, Judy of Clarksville and Glen Hinkle and wife, Merari of Lewisville, stepsons, Clifton Brown and wife, Annette of Blossom and Kendell Brown of Bagwell and stepdaughter, Angela Ruthart and husband, Brad of Paris. granddaughters, Allison McFarland and husband, Eric, Autum Barrea and husband, Ernie, Mikaela Hinkle, Alexandrea Hinkle, Penny Blanton and husband, Jonathan, Shelby Colbert and husband, Hayden, Arrissa Hinkle and Shantaye Hinkle, a grandson, Tyler Hinkle, step grandsons, Mathew Brown, Drew Ruthart and Terrance Brown, step granddaughters, Madison Drew and Allie Waggoner, a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, brothers, John and Butch Hinkle and sisters, Lena Hinkle, Glenda Falter and Psyche Willliams.
