Jackie Cooper, age 89, of Bagwell, passed away, Friday, October 21, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Cooper was a long time Rancher. He was a Cowboy for Circle ‘C” Ranch and worked there until he fell ill, on into his 80’s. He loved to talk about his old cowboy days when he was in Montana. You never caught Jackie without his boots on! Mr. Cooper was a devoted Christian. He knew his Bible and was a longtime member of the Bagwell Baptist Church. He led the singing there for many years. Mr. Cooper was born, April 25, 1933, in Midland to Mr. and Mrs. James “Jim” Cooper. His mother passed away when he was only 4 years old. His parents; wife, Mot Cooper, 3 brothers and 2 sisters preceded him in death.
Survivors include 2 sons, Button Cooper and wife, Darlene of Detroit and Jesse Cooper and wife, Melanie of New Boston; grandchildren, Nickie Ward and husband, Russell of Bagwell, Jed Cooper and wife, Madison of New Boston, Roy Cooper of Hooks, Keith Cooper of New Boston, Kristi Moore of New Boston, Hope Keeling of Avery and Sayna Yeley of Houston and numerous great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 24, 2022, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Bro. Karl Bush and Bro. Don Shovan officiating. Burial will follow in Blanton Creek Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00p.m. until4:00p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Bobby Hastings, Jade Cooper, Truman Cooper, Jed Cooper, Keith Cooper and Walker Townes.
Honorary Pallbearers are Russell Ward, Roy Cooper, Billy Winkle and all the employees at Circle “C” Ranch in Detroit.
The family would like to thank Platinum Hospice and Red River Home Health for their excellent care.
