Geraldine B. Brackeen

Geraldine B. Brackeen, age 86, of Texarkana, Texas, formerly of Avery, passed away, Friday, August 21, 2020, in Texarkana. Geraldine was born in the Acworth Community of Red River County on October 11, 1933, to Ronald Ezell and Leona Lewis Whitten.  She was retired from the Red River Army Depot. Geraldine was selected as the first woman member of the Cobra-TOW Material Fielding team in Germany.  Her 1st husband, Charles Brackeen; 2nd husband, Paul Gilliam; daughter Loretta Brackeen, 3 brothers and 7 sisters all preceded her in death.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Brenda Phelps of Avery and Pam Fisher of Texarkana, Texas; grandchildren, Rhonda Phelps of Texarkana, Texas, Charles Brackeen of Mesquite and Ashley Resendiz; great grandchildren, Adriana Resendiz, Erik Zapata and Mireya Resendiz.

Graveside services are set for 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 24, 2020, at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Deanie Lambert officiating.   Burial is under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.
