Genevieve "Jenny" Harmon Simmons, age 92, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Cornerstone Healthcare in Texarkana. Mrs. Simmons was born, October 5, 1933, in Hagarville, Arkansas.
Mrs. Simmons attended Business College after High School and worked as a secretary. She married Eugene "Gene" Simmons on May 2, 1954, at the Annona United Methodist Church. After marriage she dedicated herself to being a military wife, following Gene around the country. They settled in Dallas, Texas where Jenny was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout Leader and active in the community of Farmers Branch. Mrs. Simmons retired as cafeteria supervisor for Carrollton-Farmers Branch School District after 17 years, at that time they moved to their farm in Boxelder, Texas where she became an active member of the Boxelder Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting with the ladies of Annona and Boxelder. Gene and Jenny moved to Cornerstone Retirement Community in 2017 to enjoy their golden years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Eugene and Maggie Emily Krause Harmon; her brothers and sisters in laws, Herbert and Julia Harmon and J.C. and Geraldine Harmon
Jenny is survived by her husband of 71 years, Gene Simmons; three daughters, Cynthia, Elaine (Norm) and Pam (Tom); four grandchildren, Jeff (Anamarie), Drew, Emily (Michael) and Amy (Keoni); two great-grandchildren, Griffin and Quinn.
Funeral services are set for 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Boxelder Methodist Church with Rev. Dink Benton officiating. Burial will follow in English Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends an hour before service time at the church.
Pallbearers are Greg Simmons, Scott Simmons, Jeff Simmons, Drew Simmons, Emily Kuehn and Amy O'Connor.
