Gary Allen Byers

Gary Allen Byers, age 78, of Avery, passed away, Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. Gary was born April 5, 1943, in San Diego, California to Valton and Lawana Wynn Byers. Gary graduated from East Texas State University and was a member of the “RR” Cowboy Church. He was a retired Metal Trades Instructor from the Clarksville Independent School District.

Graveside services are set for 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 24, 2022, in English Cemetery with Rev. Rudy Rudewick officiating. Services are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Terry Cooper Barton of Avery; 1 son, Brian Byers and wife, Michelle of Ft. Worth; 2 daughters, Deanna Mitchell of Ft. Worth and Lisa Byers and husband, Coy Melton of Ft. Worth; 5 grandchildren, Monica, Cody, Chelsea, Drew and Raven; and a special cousin, James Byers and wife, Norma of Avery.
