Faye Scott Obituary

Beulah Faye Phelps Stiles Scott, of Avery, passed away, Monday, April 6, 2026, at her residence.

Faye attended school in Avery where she was a standout basketball player, during which time she met the man whom would later become her husband, Bruce Scott. In the years before Faye & Bruce’s story would continue, she met her late husband James Martin Stiles. For 38 years James & Faye built a life of love, adventure, and hard work. They owned/managed a multitude of land and cattle ranging from Red River County all the way to Australia. To add to an already exciting and eventful life, they raised three boys-Wesley, Eddy, & Dedrick. Between the three of them they gave Faye her favorite title, Grandma to seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Faye enjoyed and was known for her love of cooking. She was a fantastic cook who loved preparing meals for her family & anyone who gathered around the table. She loved hunting & gardening, finding joy in the outdoors & the beauty of nature. She also had a love for golf during her time in Australia. Those who knew Faye will remember her as funny, kind, loving, elegant & full of wit. She had a wonderful sense of humor & a presence that made people feel welcomed & cared for. Above all, Faye loved the Lord & lived her life with faith & quiet strength. Her greatest joy was her family & she cherished every moment spent with them. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, & devotion that will live on through her children, family & all who knew her. Faye will be deeply missed & forever remembered.

Faye was preceded in death by her first husband, James Martin Stiles; her brother, Bunkham Phelps; 3 sisters, Louise Hodgeson, Mary McPeak and Imagene Goodwin and her grandchild, Charlsie Stiles.

Survivors include her husband Bruce Scott of Avery; 3 sons, Wesley Stiles of Australia, Eddy Stiles of Annona and Dedrick Stiles of Paris; Special daughter-in-law, Tammy Stiles; 2 step daughters, Tina Raulston and Renee Scott and their children; her sister, Juanita Blankenship and husband, John of Bellavista, Arkansas; 6 grandchildren, Camilla and husband Trent, Jesse, Lee and wife Tiffiny, April, Ollivia and Issiah; 5 great grandchildren, Isla, Leo, Kimberlee, Bryce and Karter and numerous Nieces, Nephews and cousins.
