Sister Ethel Elizabeth Elrod, passed away, Monday, December 9, 2024, at her residence. Mrs. Elrod was born, August 4, 1939, in Red River County to Millard Henry and Mollie Elizabeth Wilson Lemond. Sister Elrod was a loving mother and a fine Minister for over 60 years in Red River County. She lived her life Christ Like. Mrs. Elrod married William Murphy "Top" Elrod on February 5, 1955 and he preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are a son, Arley Elrod; granddaughter, April Elrod; great grandson, Korbin Powell; and a brother, Sonny Lemond.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 12, 2024, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with W.H. Elrod officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are William Brown, Rusty Ross, Greg Stogsdill, Paul Frolick, Danny Healy and Tyson Wright. Honorary Pallbearer is Rob Cannon.
Survivors include her son, W.H. Elrod of the Lone Star Community; three daughters, Beth Elrod, Kay Plaster and husband, Laurence and Sabrina Powell and husband, Wade all of Bogata; grandchildren, Roxanne Smith, Layla Elrod, Kristen Clark, Brooklynn Powell, Kaitlynn Powell, Matthew Elrod, Ashley Applegate, Clay Elrod and Stephanie Robinson and numerous great grandchildren.
