Enos Murl Northcutt, age 92, of Avery, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 30, 2026, with family at his bedside under the care of hospice.
He was born on March 19, 1934, in the Lydia Community to Grover and Maggie (Baird) Northcutt and was the oldest of 8 children. He spent his life doing what he loved-coon hunting, cutting logs, and wood, farming and even dabbling a little in ranching. He had a passion for trading and usually managed to come out with the best end of the deal. You could often find him at the cow and horse sale every Saturday when he was able, or at a local flea market searching for a bargain.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; two brothers, E.G. and Bob Northcutt; one sister Lela Mae Wells; and an infant son Merle Dewayne.
He is survived by his devoted partner of many years, Susan. Together they have 2 sons Joshua and Montana. He has 4 other children Sissy, Keith, Gail and Vicki. One brother, Jim and three sisters; Louise, Nell and Robbie.
He leaves behind a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved all his family dearly, and spending time playing ball and keeping up with Mayce, Madi, Bella, Allie and Zaylie (Wildey) which helped keep him young at heart for many years.
Funeral services are 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 3, 2026, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Burkhalter officiating. Burial will follow in Avery Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Visitation will be an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Josh Northcutt, Montana Northcutt, Paull Dill, Robert Dill, Steve Ward and Chris Northcutt.
