Elza ( Connie) Somerville, age 91, of Clarksville, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Somerville was born, August 4, 1932, in the Madras Community of Red River County to Jess and Zephria Cherry Anderson. She owned Connie’s Bookkeeping and was a member of the Bagwell Baptist Church. Being the owner of Connie’s Bookkeeping for over 40 years, she always said that lifelong friends were developed instead of Clients. Connie and her husband, John always looked forward to hooking up the camper and heading to Beavers Bend. Preceding her in death are her husband, John Somerville; son, Tim Somerville; a son-in-law, Jimmy Pellett; sisters, Bessie, Odessa, and Willa Mae; brothers, Jim, Bob, Tom, Joe and Dub and nieces and nephews she was very close to.
Graveside services are set for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Catonville Cemetery with Rev. Karl Bush officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Rickey Vickers, Mickey Vickers, Chad Helberg, Gary Maxwell, Chris Bean and Roy Lynn Parker.
Survivors include a daughter, Pam Pellett of Bagwell; daughter-in-law, Marcelle Somerville of Detroit; grandchildren, Becky Pellett, Sheila Robinett, Robbie Lynne Todd and husband, Jeremy, Lisa Somerville and Dori Logsdon and husband, Casey; great grandchildren, Tanner, Lexi, Rylee, Jason, Jacob, Isaac, Will and Patrick and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Clarksville Nursing Center for their special care.
