Ellis Ray Martin

Ellis Martin, age 82, of Clarksville, passed away October 10, 2024, at his residence. Ellis was born, August 3, 1942, in Clarksville to Lewis and Opal Barnett Martin.  Ellis was a longtime, well known carpenter in the area.  He was of the Baptist faith, a jack of all trades and a true family man.  An infant twin and four brothers; John Robert, Doug, Jeff and Jerry all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Posey Martin; sons, Donnie Johnson of Dallas and Jimmy Johnson and wife, Natasha of DeRidder, Louisiana; daughters, Alena Clark of Clarksville and Lisa Howell and husband, Dennis Barton of Clarksville; grandchildren, Justin Johnson, Ashley Johnson, Courtney Fortner, Keaton Clark, Kole Clark, Cassidy Johnson, Channing Johnson and Bryer Johnson; great grandchildren, Jensen Dodd, Weston Alley, Kentley Richardson and Aleigha Clark who was his special care giver.

Funeral services are set for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 12, 2024, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Weaver officiating.  Private family burial will follow at the Martin family homeplace.  

Pallbearers are Keaton Clark, Kole Clark, Michael Fortner, Courtney Fortner, Channing Johnson, Bryer Johnson and William Clark.  

Honorary Pallbearers are Charlie Clark, Greg Clark, Jerry Steward and Dennis Barton.
