Edmond James “Eddie” Byrd, age 69, of Clarksville, passed away, Saturday, January 13, 2024, at St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana. He was born, October 24, 1954, in Mobile, Alabama. Eddie served Red River County with over 37 years of service. He was an EMT with the Red River Ambulance Service then a dispatcher for the Clarksville Police Department. At the time of his death Eddie was a dispatcher for the Red River County Sheriff’s Department. His mother, Jimmie Newton Alderete; brother, Carlee Byrd, half-brother, Pepe Alderete, sister, Lynn O’Neal and Joy Byrd, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Lori Young Byrd of Clarksville; one son, Ryan Byrd; one daughter, Karie Roberts; sister, Joanna Silva; half-sisters, Linda Harzke and Marie Alderete; half-brother, Angel Alderete; grandchildren, Mady Giles, Rihanna Byrd and Cody Edwards and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17,2024, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Tom Young officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers are the staff of the Red River County Sheriff’s office.
