Earl is best known for loving his family deeply, he absolutely adored his wife, children and grandchildren. He mentioned several times how he missed his friends and church where he was a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist of Hopewell, Texas where he had made his home since 1971. Wayne and Pam Penny were especially dear friends to him, that spent time with him, and he loved them both. Mike Kellum was a good neighbor to him, often checked in on him and mowed his yard. The Hopewell Ladies auxiliary visited and made him homemade gifts he treasured. He kept all their cards and notes. He used one, the handcrafted knitted cell phone holder while in the nursing facility and mentioned how glad he was to have it. He loved to eat fried fish and ice cream but absolutely refused to eat beef and reminded us often not to put it on his plate. He loved playing games, card games especially and we all have fond memories of games around his and our kitchen tables. One of his favorite hobbies was stalking his family on Life 360 app. He tracked us continuously until just days before he passed. His mind remained sharp until just days before his passing, for a 92-year-old he was remarkably tech savvy.
Earl was a Korean War Veteran and was proud of his service. He retired from Kimberly Clark in Paris, Texas. He lived a long life but now is with the Lord as of May 20, 2025. We will all miss him but look forward to seeing him again.
John 14:1-3 “ Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms….I am going there to prepare a place for you. “
Rev 21:4 “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain…”
Amen
