Dura Belle Childres, age 87 of the Lone Star Community, passed away, January 28, 2024. Mrs. Childres was born, July 15, 1936, in the Johntown Community of Red River County to Edgar and Kat Abernathy Burns. She was a graduate of Cunningham High School and a member of the Lone Star Church. Dura Bell was a great seamstress and enjoyed traveling, crafts, gardening and shopping with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Douglas Childres; her husband, Bobby Childres; her sister and brother-in-law, Rachel and Dolan Mankins; her baby brother, Donald Burns; her brother-in-law, Donald Warren and niece, Tonia Hinsley.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2024, at Bogata Cemetery with Rev. Don Shovan officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Survivors include her sisters, Mary Ann Warren and Jo Hinsley and husband, Larry of Bogata; granddaughter, Candace Childres of Houston, four great granddaughters, Victoria, Kenli, Teigan and Jordynn; 4 nieces; 2 nephews and her precious dog, Princess.
