Douglas Dawson, Jr. Obituary

Douglas Ray Dawson, Jr. age 57, of Hugo, Oklahoma, passed away, Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.  Doug was born, December 2, 1963, in Hugo, Oklahoma to Douglas Ray Sr. and Alberta Gayle Owens Dawson.  He was preceded in death by his father.  Doug was a 1982 graduate of Clarksville High School and played on the Tiger football team. He grew up working in the family businesses, Dawson and Dawson Construction and D&D Farms.  Doug enjoyed the outdoors and spending time at the HDH Tree Farm in Caney Well.  He married Reggie Lambeth in 1987 and they made their home in Mansfield.  During his years in Mansfield, Doug had his own business, Dawson and Dawson Construction.  As everyone knows, Doug could talk to anyone and he found his true calling as a salesman for Mathis Machinery from 1998 to 2004.  When Mathis shut its doors, Doug felt a calling to do his part overseas.  He went to work for KBR in Iraq.  He very much enjoyed his time in the sand.  If you knew him well, you know how much he loved his country and the American Flag.  Doug returned home to work in construction for David Weekley and Brian Braswell Custom Homes.  He excelled working with home owners and took pride in delivering perfection.

Survivors include his mother, Berta Floyd and husband, Glen of Boxelder; mother of his children, Reggie Dawson of Stephenville; son, Douglas Dakota Dawson of Stephenville; daughter, Dylan Dawson and wife, Laura Bailey of Benbrook; 2 sisters, Sean Boone and husband, Larry of Hugo, Oklahoma and Chance Bishop and husband, Steve of Clarksville, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
