Doris Cagle

Doris Cagle, age 91, of Avery, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at her residence.

Doris was born December 27, 1930, in Avery to James Austin and Mattie Annie King Kelsoe.  Doris enjoyed gardening, mowing with the tractor and maintaining her place.  She was the pianist for both English and Avery United Methodist Churches for over 40 years.  Doris loved her kids and grandchildren, they were her life and she will be deeply missed.  Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Walter "Buck" Cagle; 2 brothers, Joseph and Herschel Kelsoe and 2 sisters, Maureece Hall and Evonne Thomason.

The family will receive friends one hour before service time at Avery United Methodist Church.

Funeral services are set for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Avery United Methodist Church with Rev. Deanie Lambert officiating.  Burial will follow in Avery Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Survivors include her 3 daughters, Charlsey Gilbert and husband, John of Garland, Connie Henderson and husband, Chuck of McKinney and Denise Cagle Williamson and husband, Dennis of Canton, NC; her son, Reed Cagle and wife, Donna of Plano;  her brother, Ralph Kelsoe of Avery; 3 grandchildren, Stephanie Howell and husband, Chris of Plano, Clint Gilbert and wife, Linsey of Garland and Nick Henderson of McKinney; 7 great grandchildren, Brandon, Cameron, Dylan, Kacie, Kevin, Zoe and Knox and 1 great-great grandchild, Grayson.  Doris spent her last 4 years at Devoted Faith Care Home of Plano where she was taken care of by  two very special caretakers, Eunica and Noline.
