Donny Baird

Billy Donald (Donny) Baird, age 68, of Lanes Chapel in Clarksville, Texas, passed away August 11, 2025. Donny was born on March 05, 1957, in Clarksville, Texas to Jessie and Opal Tucker Baird.

He was a graduate of the Clarksville High School Class of 1975. Donny had worked for the past 14 years at Red River Army Depot for Amentum. He had previously worked for Annona Manufacturing for 35 years. He was a member of McKenzie Memorial United Methodist Church. Donny was a 4-H Shooting Sports Coach and was involved with Clarksville 4-H for many years. He also served as a T-ball-baseball coach with the Clarksville Band Boosters. Donny loved to travel with his family especially to his favorite places in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. Yellowstone National Park and the Beartooth Highway were dear to his heart, and more recently Cruising the Seas on a Carnival Ship. Donny was a very hard worker, a great cook and no one could have asked for a better husband, father, son or brother.

Donny was preceded in death by his father-Jessie Baird, Mother-Opal Tucker Baird, Brothers- Curtis Baird, James Baird and Bobby Baird and Sisters-Faye Baird Norwood and JoAnn Baird Gaines, Brother-in-law Billy Carson and Sister-in-law, Brenda Baird.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 40 years, Sunni Pryor Baird and his precious son, Zachary Jessie Ray Baird, his sister, Joyce Carson of Boxelder, Texas, and twin brother, Kenneth Ronald (Ronny) Baird and wife, Darlece of Boxelder, Texas, brother-in-law, Donald Ralph Gaines of Boxelder, Parents-In-Law, Ed and Helen Pryor, Brother-in-Law, Andrew Pryor and wife, Amy of Colleyville, Texas and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to The Cajun Navy, St. Jude, The Red River County Humane Society or Red River County 4-H Shooting Sports.

Celebration of Life services for Donny are 4:00 PM Friday, August 15, 2025, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Andrew Pryor and Eiljah Pryor officiating.  

Donny's ashes will be scattered later along the Beartooth Highway and Yellowstone National Park.

Visitation will be an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home.
