Donna Joyce Modesitt

Donna Modesitt, age, 78, of Detroit, passed away, Friday, January 31, 2025, at Legend Healthcare in Paris.

Donna Joyce Modesitt was born December 5, 1946, to Donald and Rita Westenhaver, in Chelsea, Oklahoma. She graduated Chelsea High school in 1964 and then went on to graduate from the Tulsa Technical College. Donna married Phillip Modesitt, and they lived in several different states before finally calling Detroit, Texas home.

Donna worked in banking most of her adult life and eventually retired from the Tom Bean First National Bank – Clarksville Branch after years of service. 

With a strong Christian faith, Donna was an active member of the Detroit First Baptist Church and later Bagwell Baptist Church, where she helped with VBS and Sunday school.

One of her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren. She always looked for reasons to get all of them together so mee-maw could spoil them, and they could enjoy all their cousins.

Another favorite of Donna was being a member of the Red Hat Society. The camaraderie, friendships and community fellowship made an everlasting impression on her.

She was more than Donna Modesitt, she was a believer in Christ, loving wife, dutiful mother and proud mee-maw.

Donna is survived by her husband Phil Modesitt, son Randy Modesitt, son Rick Modesitt and wife, Tonya Modesitt and their families: Mitchell Modesitt, Mallory Stanfield and husband, Justin Stanfield, son Jett Stanfield, daughter Caitlyn Stanfield, Miller Modesitt and wife, Morgan Modesitt, Ty Modesitt and wife, Tori Modesitt, daughter Emilia Modesitt, Bailie Hurtado and husband, Dr. William Hurtado.

The family will receive friends one hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Funeral Services are set for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 8, 2025, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Karl Bush officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Justin Stanfield, Mitchell Modesitt, Ty Modesitt, Miller Modesitt, Dr. William Hurtado, and Chad Wolf.
