Diannah Faye Murphy Lum was born on December 11, 1945, in Texarkana, Arkansas. Diannah passed away of natural causes on October 17, 2021, in Duncan, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years surrounded by her family.
Diannah was the daughter of John Wesley Murphy of Boxelder, Texas and Velma Pauline Howard of Avery, Texas. Diannah was married to Choyce Earl Lum of Boxelder, Texas on April 11, 1967. The couple moved multiple times during the early years of marriage but eventually returned to Boxelder, Texas to establish their home. They were blessed with one child, Donna Laraye Lum and provided Donna a loving home in Boxelder for many years. In 2006, Choyce and Diannah sold their Boxelder holdings and bought a cabin on Lake Humphry near Marlow, Oklahoma to live near their grandchildren. There they lived as Nana and Bubby for many years and will be missed by their family and friends.
Graveside services are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021, in Boxelder Cemetery with Bill Whiteman officiating. Burial is under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Honorary Pallbearers are Stephen Whiteman, Chris Whiteman, Don Murphy, Harold Lum and Charles Upchurch.
Diannah was preceded in death by her husband Choyce Earl Lum and three siblings, Mary McDuffie of Texarkana, Texas, Margie Lynch of New Boston, Texas, and Bill Murphy of Avery, Texas.
Diannah is survived by her daughter Donna Whiteman, son-in-law Stephen Whiteman, grandchildren Christopher Whiteman, Rebecca Whiteman, Melinda Whiteman, daughter-in-law Sarah Whiteman, two great grandchildren, twin brother Don Murphy of Lydia, Texas, sister-in-law Myrna Murphy of Avery, Texas, and a large extended family.
