David Lee Townes, Jr.

David Lee Townes, Jr., age 67, of Bogata, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, at Focused Care at Clarksville Nursing Center.

David was born August 21, 1957, in Clarksville to David Lee Townes, Sr. and Nita Joyce Cawley. To say David loved motorcycles would be an understatement—his passion for bikes and peaceful rides was a defining part of his life. Even more than that, he loved his family deeply and was actively involved in the lives of his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

David was known for his kind and giving spirit—he would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. He faced many challenges throughout his life, including surviving a liver transplant, yet he never lost his sense of humor. Through it all, he found joy in making others laugh, often cracking jokes and pulling pranks on his friends. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

David will be remembered as a caring and fun-loving man who touched many lives. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Tesa Rosson; and his brother-in-law, Michael Ray Wilson.

Survivors include his two daughters, Madeline Michelle Frost and husband, Mark of Corpus Christi, and Chelsey Hawthorne; his stepfather, Jimmy Lee Redding of Bogata; his sister, Janice Wilson of Winnsboro; two grandchildren, Max Frost and Marlow Frost; his nieces and nephews, David Rosson, Candice Rosson, Christy McDonald, William McDonald, and Christopher Rosson; and his great-nieces and nephews, Daniel Rosson, Preston Poarch, Kooper Little, Koren Little, Paisley Minor, and Waylon Rosson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Aaron Archer officiating. Burial will follow at Bogata Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers are: David Rosson, Mark Allums, Daniel Rosson, Billy Beshirs, Bubba Jack Rhoads and Dustin Long. Honorary pallbearers are Ray Alford and Billy Ray Blundell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
