Dalton Jackson

George Dalton Jackson, Jr. age 71, of Avery, passed away Friday, March 27, 2020, at his residence. Dalton was born November 23, 1948, in Clarksville to George Dalton Jackson and Ruby Ruth “Billie” Barger Jackson, Sr. He was a 1967 graduate of Avery High School. His father preceded him in death. He was a rancher and cattle buyer and had a knack about finding the perfect set of cattle for his clients. Dalton was an avid deer hunter. He enjoyed many years of hunting with his family on the Chapman Ranch in Red River County. You could find Dalton most days a the Avery 7-11 drinking coffee with his friends.

Survivors include his mother, Billie Jackson of Avery; son, Clint Jackson and wife, Sheila of Avery; daughter, Susie Jackson of Avery; grandchildren, Hunter Jackson, Rockelle Culpepper, Shane Hopper, Dalton Heidelberg and Justin Heidelberg; great grandchildren, Dodge, Quinton, Stetson, Reigns and Colby.

The family will be a the Clint Jackson home, north of Avery.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
