Clinton Jasper Obituary

Clinton Hugh Jasper, age 73, passed from this life on January 31, 2025, in Detroit, Texas. Clinton was born October 28, 1951, in Dequeen, Arkansas.

Clinton is preceded in death by his father: Clifford Clinton Jasper; his mother: “Bessie” (Weir) Jasper; beloved bonus son: Steven Johnson.

Clinton is the posterity of, the American Revolution Patriot, Nicholas Jasper, born 1752, in Charleston, South Carolina, and Elizabeth (Wyatt) Jasper, who along with their sons and daughters were a part of the wagon train of settlers arriving in what is now Pulaski County, Kentucky, around 1796.

Clinton is a 1971 graduate of Battiest Oklahoma High School. Clinton then graduated from Oklahoma State University Technical School, Okmulgee, specializing in Diesel & Heavy Equipment Mechanics, in 1974.

Clinton was an avid reader but his favorite author was Louis L’amour, of which Clinton had his entire collection. He was a master storyteller and he loved to tell jokes. Those who knew him have fond memories of Clinton getting so tickled at the joke he was telling that he had a hard time finishing the joke.

There are so many incredible things to say about Clinton Jasper and the honourable life he lived. Above all else, Clinton was a precious son, husband, father, grand-father, uncle, brother, cousin, friend and neighbor. He was an amazing family man who is loved and cherished by many.

Clinton is survived by his wife: Mary Ann (Loman) Jasper;  daughter: Chantia Jasper; son: Gavin Jasper; daughters-in-law: Chevelle Johnson and Catherine (soon to be – Jasper); grand-daughters: Gabrielle Jasper and Avianna Jasper; grand-sons: Ja’vin Walker Jasper, Duke Jasper, and Dallas Johnson; sisters: Rhonda (Jasper) Pearson and Beverly Jasper-Hayes; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
