Chris Raulston

Christine "Chris" Raulston, born February 5, 1931, passed away peacefully at the age of 94 at Clarksville Nursing Center.

Chris was born in Red River County, Texas, to John Rue Key and Lillie Gladys Pierce on August 12, 1950.  She married the love of her life, Kenneth "Kent" Adron Raulston and together they built a legacy of love, laughter and unwavering devotion. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Kent, her parents, her two beloved sisters; Geneva Smith and Nadine Dobbs, and her son of the heart, Larry David Smith, whom she and Kent loved as their own. 

Chris is survived by her devoted family; Jimmie Ruth, Laura, Jennifer, and Jason Smith; Robert and Sandra Galley, Sheila Thrasher, Steve, Monica, Matt and Brandon Raulston, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews who cherished her deeply. 

Chris dedicated decades of her life to Sears Roebuck and Company, where her strong work ethic and kind heart left a lasting impression.  But it was her warmth, wit and unmistakable flair that made her unforgettable to all who knew her. Chris never left the house unless she was perfectly put together.  Her signature style included stylish outfits, over the top jewelry, and her iconic hats- each ensemble a reflection of her vibrant personality and timeless class. She was famous for her homemade coconut and Key Lime pies, and she kept her chocolate eclair recipe a closely guarded secret - one that remains a mystery to all but a very few and a legacy all its own. Her life was a masterclass in grace, resilience, and love. Her presence lit up every room and her absence will be profoundly felt. She leaves behind a family strengthened by her memory and a community better for having known her. 

Graveside service will be held at 9:00AM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at New Haven Cemetery.
