Charline Slaton

Charline Slaton, age 90 of Bogata, left this world peacefully to be with her Heavenly Father on May 27, 2024, while receiving care at Paris Regional Medical Center. 

Charline was born on December 18, 1933, to Lucian and Viva Humphrey. She was extremely close to her siblings and loved them all dearly. They would often take vacations together, go camping or have “siblings only” sleep overs. She had a drapery business, baked the most delicious cakes and pies and worked as a baby nurse for many years. 

She attended Fulbright Baptist Church where her grandson is pastor. She was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ who loved being a pastor's wife. She loved her church family and enjoyed serving the Lord in many capacities over the years. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, but most importantly she loved to share the gospel with others. 

Charline was preceded in death by her father and mother, Lucian and Viva Humphrey, her husband Edgar Slaton, brothers, Donald Humphrey, Earl Humphrey and Monte Humphrey and sister, Ruby Tucker. 

She is survived by one brother, Glen Humphrey, one son, Kelly Dean Slaton and wife, Linda, 2 daughters, Rue Anna Bell and husband, Regan and Gayln Ziegler; 9 grandchildren, LaTonya Miller, Crystal Davidson, Brandon Bell, LaCona Slaton, Jeremy Thompson, Jeremy Hall, Emily Worthington, Jason Thompson and Jo Lynn Glass.; 17 great grandchildren; and 5 great, great grandchild.  

Funeral Services are set for 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Brandon Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends an hour before service.
